Flight simulation network VATSIM has announced signups for their new audio solution.
The new solution, Audio for VATSIM (AFV), will feature clear VHF communication, minimal latency, realistic range-based VHF range, incorporation of blocking tones and the ability to use voice on any frequency, yes even UNICOM.
VATSIM needs help in testing these new systems through beta testers, who can apply for the position here. Beta testers will be selected at random. Applicants will receive a confirmation via email, and if accepted, will receive an email with further instructions.
This new CODEC update for VATSIM has been long awaited, as many flight simmers look for the new dawn of voice clarity over the network. No release has been announced yet but the release appears to be imminent.
