VA Hardware has provided a fresh update on the development of its Mini Flight Data Display, revealing a range of new features and functionality that significantly expand the device beyond its original concept.

First announced during FlightSimExpo 2025, the Mini Flight Data Display was initially designed as a compact desktop device capable of tracking real-world flights and displaying live operational information. However, following extensive community feedback, the project has evolved into a more versatile platform aimed at both aviation enthusiasts and flight simulator pilots.

According to VA Hardware, the additional development time has allowed the team to refine both the hardware and software experience ahead of launch.

Introducing the VA Hardware Dashboard

One of the biggest additions is the new VA Hardware Dashboard, a web-based platform that will act as the central hub for managing and configuring devices.

Through the dashboard, users will be able to pair devices, manage flight tracking, customise display layouts, monitor device status, and adjust settings remotely without interacting directly with the hardware itself.

Custom Displays for Every Phase of Flight

The Mini Flight Data Display will also feature advanced customisation options, allowing users to choose exactly what information is shown during different phases of flight.

Separate layouts can be configured for taxi, climb, cruise, descent, approach, landing, and other flight phases, enabling users to prioritise the data most relevant to each stage of a journey.

Real-World and Simulator Flight Tracking

The biggest change since the original announcement is the addition of flight simulator integration.

Alongside tracking live real-world flights, the device will now be capable of displaying data from Microsoft Flight Simulator flights. The feature will work on both PC and Xbox through the VA Systems In-Game Panel, allowing sim pilots to use the display as a dedicated companion device during virtual flights.

The platform will also include an integrated flight search system, making it possible to find flights using airline, route, airport, flight number, and date criteria.

Built for Everyone

By supporting both live aviation tracking and simulator integration, VA Hardware hopes to create a product that appeals to a wide audience. Whether following a real-world flight across the globe or monitoring progress during a virtual journey, the Mini Flight Data Display is designed to provide a dedicated source of flight information in a compact desktop format.

While a release date has yet to be announced, VA Hardware says the product is now entering its final stages of development as work continues on both the device and its supporting ecosystem.
