Update 28th July 2017 @ 14:10z: Despite the earlier posting of an August release date, Mathijs has now revised his estimates saying that “August is simply not possible”. He said that there are many variables which impacts the release, and so won’t be providing an update right now on a possible time frame.

Because of this, we can all go back to anticipating an Airbus in P3DV4 and whenever the CRJ will come out. Sorry for getting hopes up!

Original article:

Earlier today, Aerosoft updated their P3Dv4 compatibility list, which highlighted that they were still possibly on track to release their A320 series this coming August. With this in mind, Mathijs took to the forums earlier to give a brief update on what to expect from Aerosoft for their upcoming aircraft release. This includes the CRJ, the A320 Series 2018 Edition and of course the long awaited A330.

First and foremost, it should be clarified that the current version of the Aerosoft Airbus series will not be made compatible with P3Dv4. While this may sound disappointing, remember that we’ve been receiving updates for it since 2014! With that said, Aerosoft have assured us before that the new version will come with more than just compatibility. For example, there’s a brand new revised virtual cockpit (screenshots below), a host of update to the systems and a more complete MCDU.

As before, Aerosoft will release both the A320/A321 and the A318/A319 packs separately, as well as a bundle package. Pricing for the individual packs will be 40 Euro (plus EU VAT). The bundle package price has yet to be announced. Furthermore, if you have previously purchased the A320/A321 or the A318/A319 series in the past, you will only pay 16 Euro (plus EU VAT).

Again, the combi-package upgrade price has yet to be confirmed. Aerosoft has reiterated their commitment that the community doesn’t pay twice for the same files.

As for the A330, Mathijs said it will follow on from the release of the A320 Series 2018 Edition. Now dubbed the A330 2018 edition, he said that he ‘expects these all to be released shortly after each other’. Additionally, it looks like the Airbus aircraft will receive a ‘major’ yearly overhaul.

So that’s two out of the three aircraft we’re anticipating from Aerosoft. What about the CRJ?

In another statement from Mathijs, he said that all 3 products will release this year – the first being the CRJ. So if the A320 Series is being released in August (maybe), then this would mean the CRJ is planned for an August (maybe) release as well!

Looks like an expensive Summer is coming up!

Edit: Since writing this, Aerosoft updated the compatibility table to “TBA” for the Airbus A320 series. Mathijs is updating the thread tomorrow.
