Following their recent London Luton HD MSFS success, established P3D and XP developer UK2000 has just dropped their next airport release, this time being the airport of Inverness (EGPE) for MSFS.
The city of Inverness serves as the capital of the Scottish Highlands and is considered to be the northern-most city in the United Kingdom. In addition to it possessing a port able to accommodate small cruise liners, the town is probably most famous for its proximity to Scotland’s most renowned Loch: Loch Ness, home of the world-famous Loch Ness Monster, affectionately referred to as Nessie. Inverness’s airport first entered service as an RAF airbase (RAF Dalcrosse) back in 1940 during the Second World War and with it being later opened for civilian operations in 1947. Currently, the airport sees several regular services to London Heathrow, Gatwick, and Luton, and international destinations such as Amsterdam-Schiphol and Palma-de-Mallorca.
After initially having brought the airport to both XP11 and P3D, UK2000 has now also released their rendition of the scenery for MSFS. The developer claims to have used many of MSFS’s latest features, including its sloping terrain technology and the airport and approach light models. The scenery features custom 3D model buildings, realistic ground markings, custom vehicles, and the use of novel PBR materials. The complete feature list can be found attached below. As with previous releases, existing customers already owning the scenery for either P3D or XP11 are entitled to a discount upon purchase of the MSFS version of the scenery.
