Turbulent Design announced yesterday that their next scenery, Idaho Falls Regional Airport, is nearing the Beta stage of development. Accompanying this announcement they have a list of features and several screenshots. High quality buildings and textures, SODE Jetway’s, and Dynamic Lighting are just a few of the features mentioned. A release date is pending.
Idaho Falls Regional Airport (Formerly Fanning Field) is a public use airport located two miles northwest of Idaho Falls. It is the second-busiest airport in Idaho after Boise Airport. The airport covers an area of 866 acres which is 3.5km2. The features listed by Turbulent Designs note that the scenery covers 11.7km2. Meaning the coverage area of the scenery goes well beyond the airport. In addition to this they promise High quality buildings and points of interest. There will also be options for Lower definition textures for performance challenged users.
For those looking for a new airport to fly into, Idaho Falls had over 38 thousand operation in a 12 month period ending on December 2010. Averaging 105 per day. Of this most of it was general aviation. However there are 3 airlines that service 7 major airports in the US operating at the airport.
Sadly Turbulent did not state in the press release weather or not the Beta is closed or public. And the release date of the Scenery is TBD. Pricing was not stated either. They did however include several screenshots which can be viewed below.
