TorqueSim announced that the Islander BN-2 is coming to X-Plane just a little over two weeks ago. Since then, the team has continued to develop the aircraft and now wants to share some additional details with the community. This week’s blog post focuses on the interior and panel, along with a new livery.
The new interior shots preview the efforts that TorqueSim has put into developing this adaptive aircraft. The aircraft can take on some of the most challenging conditions in aviation and as such, TorqueSim have added a “high capable avionics package” to the aircraft, along with dual GPS and a full set of gauges for both pilot and copilot. The screenshots show off the traditional steam gauges, but the team also said that the AFM G5 instruments have also been tested and they are working on a version of that for the aircraft.
In addition, the team also added that they have developed a powerful custom-coded electrical system which “far exceeds” anything in X-Plane’s scope or capability. Furthermore, there is a KFC 225 autopilot system, a full set of working circuit breakers and a Garmin-like transponder.
Finally, it was confirmed that beta testing of the aircraft will soon start.
