Top Mach Studios Releases Freeware Whiteman AFB

Less than two weeks after the release of their B2 Spirit Stealth Bomber for Microsoft Flight Simulator, Top Mach Studios has released the home of the B2, Whiteman Air Force Base.

Whiteman AFB covers over eight and a half square miles of land in the heart of Missouri in the United States of America. It first opened in 1942 by the US Army Corps for the training of WACO glider pilots during World War II. After the war, it slowly reduced in operation and became abandoned in 1947 until it was turned over to the 340th Bombardment wing of the USAF to play home to the B-47 Stratojet and KC-97 Stratofreighter from 1954. Fast forward to 1987, it was announced that the USAF’s new Advanced Technology Bomber, named the B2, will be moving to the site where they have been based ever since.

Top Mach Studios enlisted WombiiActual, a scenery developer who took NickB’s freeware version of Whiteman AFB for MSFS to revamp and improve the existing scenery to ensure virtual pilots of the B2 Spirit had an immersive experience whilst flying from its home base. The scenery includes accurately modelled B2 Hangars with logos of each of the “Spirit of X” bombers with automated door animations, tower, additional buildings and plenty of static aircraft of different types including a B-52 gate guard, ground vehicles and clutter.

To enhance your B2 operations from Whiteman AFB, head to the Top Mach Studios to download the scenery for free.
