As the release date is approaching fast (October 19th), ToLiss has updated the community with some fresh posts on their facebook page. Currently they can report there are no major roadblocks and the beta phase is well underway. The developer has mentioned they will attempt to release the widebody as early as possible on the release date in order to allow users to take their new aircraft across the pond on the Vatsim “Cross the pond” event.

Additionally a set of images was shared to give a visual impression of some of the new features that will be included with their simulation of the Airbus A330-900. Some of these features appear to be new within the ToLiss aircraft lineup. One of the features mentioned is the integration of the ISCS in the tablet or EFB. The ISCS (Interactive Simulation Control System) is created by ToLiss as a method to control anything related to the simulation of the airplane, usually running in a separate window. For the A330neo we can now expect this to be directly integrated into the EFB or tablet.
Another feature is the implementation of a HUD for X-Plane 12. The Heads Up Display is a visual guidance system that’s being (retro)fitted to more and more aircraft with the aim of improving situational awareness and for example smoothing out transitions between conditions with good and bad visibility out the window (IMC and VMC).

Another item on the feature list is called DRAIMS (Digital Radio and Audio Integrating Management System). This is a digital upgrade to the analog radio system, sporting a digital display and multi-function keys.
Finally ToLiss mentions a “runway overrun protection system”. This most likely refers to “ROPS”, a technology created by Airbus to prevent runway excursions on landings by providing warnings on changing conditions that affect the landing distance.
Pricing and a full list of features is not yet available at this time, stay tuned for the release and further information about the A330-900.
