FlightSimExpo 2023 is shaping up to be the biggest year so far, thanks to the confirmation of over 50 exhibitors and sponsors, alongside the news that Microsoft will be in attendance. With just over 80 days until the event, we have now learned who will be speaking during the show, along with who will be announcing new products at the weekend event in Houston, Texas.
On the official schedule for Friday 23rd June, we now know that 8 different developers will be showcasing brand-new products on stage. Developers such as Thrustmaster, TFDi Design, Honeycomb, Virtual-Fly and others are all confirmed to be giving 20-minute presentations detailing their upcoming product releases. Thrustmaster has been known to announce new products at each show, whilst TFDi Design has already teased that their MD-11 be getting some love during the weekend. Furthermore, there is also a product reveal happening at the end of the day by an unannounced developer. With companies such as PMDG and Microsoft already confirmed to be involved with the show in some capacity, this could be something to keep our eyes peeled for.
Speakers and Seminars
Alongside product announcements on Friday afternoon, there will be a huge lineup of speakers and seminars taking place across the weekend. Developers such as FlyByWire Simulations, Infinite Flight, Prepar3D, Hype Performance Group, and FlightFX are all going to be involved in a number of topics on both Saturday and Sunday. You will be able to take part in panel discussions, ask your favourite developers anything you would like and learn more about the tools they use to make your most-used product.
There are also a number of real-world seminars that will give you a completely different perspective on how you can use your flight sim. Sergio from Helisimmer will be helping you get to grips with helicopters, Bill King will help you get more insight into how content creators work, and Trevor Olsen will be sharing how you can finally start to build that home cockpit of your dreams. Other topics include:
- How accessibility tools help simmers with disabilities take part in the hobby
- Learning about aviation safety and weather
- Putting simulator and real-world training into practice
- Learning about SimConnect and livery painting
As you can see, there are a huge number of topics and seminars that will be only available to those who are involved with FlightSimExpo 2023.
If you don’t have time to see each of them, ticket holders will also get exclusive access to the recorded seminars after the show concludes so you can watch them back at any time.
You can see the full seminar schedule on their website.
One of the many things past attendees have mentioned is that they felt there wasn’t enough to do before and after the shows to justify going. This year, things are massively different are there are a number of organised trips to keep things fresh. Across the weekend, there are tours to Houston’s ATC tower and airside visits where you will be able to see the airport from a completely different perspective. Furthermore, there are fully organised trips to the nearby Space Center and social activities on the Saturday evening.
The full activity list is over on the FlightSimExpo website.
