Developer TFDi Design has announced that they will be bringing all-new features to PACX very soon as part of a beta rollout. The new cabin simulation mode will mean each passenger will be represented and simulated within the virtual cabin of the aircraft you are flying. Going beyond the current product release, TFDi Design hopes to create an authentic passenger experience for you to help manage during those flights to your favourite virtual destination.
The post was made by the owner of TFDi Design, Collin Biedenkapp, and he described this update as something which will bring “actual ‘people'” into the plane. As represented by some of the imagery in the Discord server, you will be able to see passengers board, disembark and move around the cabin and see how they are feeling. If they are feeling hungry, you can initiate a food service or if they are looking like they need a drink, then you can conduct a service. Selecting passengers will also let you know exactly how they are feeling so you can work towards providing an excellent level of customer service.
Each of the cabins is completely customisable to any number of configurations, including multiple floors if flying a double-decked aircraft type.
The update is due to be made available in the coming days to those who have opted to be part of the beta program via the PACX application.
You can buy your very own copy of TFDi Design’s PACX for $29.99 from the TFDi Design website. It is compatible with FSX, P3D, X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator (with some limitations).
Thanks to NATORDEN for the tip.
Key Points:
- 100% customizable – any aircraft, any class configuration, (and even any number of floors, as shown by the 747 layout above). You can add and edit the cabin layout any time.
- AI-path-finding causes passengers to react to, and wait for, each other to load bags, find seats, etc.
- Smooth and realistic – we’ve hand tuned (and will continued doing so) the numbers and behavior of the passengers and crew to be realistic and efficient.
- You can click a passenger to see them in the list, or select them in the list to highlight them in the cabin
- Their colors indicate their current satisfaction
