TerraBuilder has shared another development update for SpacePort, its ambitious module designed to bring spaceflight into Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Since we first covered the project, much of the team’s attention has been on what TerraBuilder calls the “rocket science” side of SpacePort. One of the big milestones is powered ascent guidance, which is now working and allows the launch vehicle to follow the required trajectory into orbit.
A new series of videos gives us the best look yet at how SpacePort will actually play. The video covers the complete mission process, beginning with launch preparation and payload integration before moving through launch, ascent into Low Earth Orbit and eventually payload deployment.
TerraBuilder has also showcased the level of detail being put into the launch facilities themselves, with new footage of the infrastructure surrounding Pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center.
Another demonstration sees the Space Shuttle launching from KSC and heading towards orbit, whilst a shorter video shows a launch taking place at sunset.
It’s a significant step forward from the earlier technology demonstrations and gives us a much clearer idea of how TerraBuilder intends to turn SpacePort into a complete spaceflight experience within Microsoft Flight Simulator.
