Developer Synaptic Simulations took to social media to share the progress on their upcoming freeware A220 for MSFS.
In recent years, the Airbus A220, formerly known as the C-Series, has grown into one of the most versatile and passenger-friendly narrowbody aircraft in commercial aviation. The aircraft was initially designed and manufactured by Canadian manufacturer Bombardier and features all the latest innovations, including composite materials, larger digital displays, and more. However, after facing a series of manufacturing problems and a trade dispute with Boeing, Airbus became the majority stakeholder in the project. Airbus rebranded the aircraft and has worked hard to ensure the aircraft can compete with the Boeing 737 MAX 7 and the Embraer E-Jet E2 family.
In their Twitter post, Synaptic Simulations shared a single picture mainly showcasing the throttle quadrant. However, you can make out part of the pilot’s seat and the lower navigation display. No information was provided on what kind of textures and materials were used in the cockpit, nor was a timeline for the aircraft’s release. However, for a freeware product, the level of detail in the cockpit is impressive, evident by the flight simulator community’s reaction to the preview. The team also shared that they will be doing a stream in the near future featuring the complete aircraft model and avionics.
