As 2025 came to a close, the team behind the Synaptic A220 shared a brief end-of-year update, reaffirming that development is firmly on final approach while quality remains the clear priority. With enthusiasm for the aircraft continuing to run high, the developers thanked the community for their patience as the project edges closer to release.
Throughout the year, significant progress has been made across the aircraft’s core systems. Engine control, fly-by-wire, and autoflight logic have all matured, while the flight management system has been rebuilt on a more robust foundation to better support deeper system coupling. This work has helped expand overall aircraft complexity, with the EICAS now featuring more than 100 messages, alongside ongoing refinements to the engine and flight models to better reflect real-world performance.
Looking ahead to 2026, the pace of testing is set to increase, with a strong focus on LNAV and VNAV guidance, performance-driven flight path logic, and finalising remaining systems such as pressurisation and autobrakes. While the Synaptic A220 did not make its debut in 2025, the team says the extra time will ensure a more complete and respected release. More news is expected in the months ahead as development continues into the new year.
This news was shared by the developer on December 31st 2025, but the FSElite volunteer team took time off over the holidays. We apologise for the delayed reporting, but hope those who missed the news over New Years appreciate it now.
