Step back in time to the iconic ‘Mother of all Airports’ in its 1970s glory days.

Sundownersim Releases 1970s Berlin Tempelhof Airport for MSFS 20/24

Be transported back in time to one of history’s most iconic and important airfields, Germany’s Berlin Tempelhof (formerly EDDI), with Sundownersim’s exciting release for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.

The focal point of the famous Berlin Airlift and central to life in the Cold War, Tempelhof was a crucial airfield supplying the divided city of Berlin with precious cargo. Post-war, the airfield was an international airport that served the centre of the German capital, until it ceased operations in 2008. Nowadays the airfield serves as a huge recreational area for the city residents and tourists.

The scenery from Sundownersim also includes Berlin Wall segments and watchtowers, the famous Checkpoint Charlie, Fernsehturm TV tower and the Palast der Republik. The airport itself features the iconic curved terminal building in which some aircraft would park underneath the overhanging terminal roof.

The scenery layout of the former airfield includes its two runways with ILS and VASI, 15 usable parking stands and 6 helipads. Additionally, era-accurate, high-resolution aerial imagery of the airfield and surroundings brings the historic airfield to life. Aviators can fly the length of the Berlin Wall, explore military hardware across the airfield and even witness a ‘spy exchange’ bridge scene.

You can purchase EDDI Sundownersim 1970s Berlin Tempelhof Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 from the Miltech website for $15.99.
