Real-world aircraft maker Stemme and MSFS aircraft development team Got Friends have partnered up to bring a ‘study-level’ S12-G to Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The announcement comes via the official forums with a brief announcement from DigitalJonx. They said that the 3D modelling has started as the official models were sent over from StemmeUSA. Along with that, a brief video was used to introduce the StemmeUSA team.
The S12-G is an interesting take on the traditional glider in that it comes equipped with a motor to help pilots fly independently. With a hugely impressive 82ft wingspan and a maximum cruise speed of 140 knots, the glider is a dream come true for those wanting to experience flight in this way at exciting speeds. The aircraft comes equipped with a Garmin G3X panel, giving you all the functionality and information you need to have a safe flight. The engine also means you can stay airborne longer, all without compromising the glider experience.
Got Friends are made up of a number of different developers who collaborate on bringing payware products to the simulator. Their last release, the Gee Bee R3 Special demonstrated how effectively the numerous team members worked together to bring a quality aircraft to the simulator. It’s hopeful, then, that the S12-G glider will reach the same standards when it does release.
No further details were shared at this time, but we’ll keep a close eye on development.
