Developer Stairport, best known for their Scenery Animation Manager, has released further previews of their latest scenery project, Chania Daskalogiannis airport (LGSA) for X-Plane.
Chania airport is located on the Greek island of Crete, approximately 14 kilometres Northeast of the city of Chania. The airport handles over 2.9 million passengers a year across 20,000 aircraft movements making it the 6th busiest airport in the entirety of Greece. Airlines such as Agean, Ryanair and Smartlynx connect passengers to destinations across Europe including Athens, Paphos, Amsterdam and Stockholm. The airport is named after a Cretan rebel against Ottoman rule in the 18th century and it handles both military and civil movements.
In a Facebook post, Stairport has included screenshots of their rendition of the airport. These show an overall look of the airport and its surroundings along with a night shot showing 3D modelled traffic and some impressive night lighting. The post doesn’t contain any further information, just the tagline ‘on short finals’ suggesting the release is imminent.
Keep an eye out over on the Stairport Sceneries’ Facebook page for any further updates regarding Chania and their other developments.
