Shortly after the release of their German Islands scenery pack, Stairport Sceneries announced on Facebook that they’ve started developing Greater Moncton International Airport (CYQM) for X-Plane. They have shared two rendered images containing models of the new terminal building, officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and other surrounding buildings.
The small international airport, located in far east Canada was renamed in 2016, in honour of the former governor, Roméo LeBlanc to Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport or GMIA for short.
The airfield is classified as an airport of entry to Canada and the airport has seen over 600,000 passenger movements a year. It is serviced by Air Canada Express and Rouge, Sunwing Airlines and Westjet Encore to destinations across Canada, North America and Iceland. The airport is large enough to accommodate aircraft as large as the Boeing 747.
