On Facebook, developers Stairport Sceneries has announced Alta Airport (ENAT) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The airport in Norway officially opened in 1963 and sees airlines from across Europe visit on a regular basis.
Initial services operated from the airfield included flights to Kirkenes, Lakselv, Oslo, and Tromsø, all performed by Scandinavian Airline Systems (SAS) using their Convair CV-440 Metropolitan fleet. Today, the airport sees three mainline carriers operating scheduled services from its grounds, including SAS, Norwegian Air Shuttle, and Wideroe. In addition to scheduled services, Aegean Airlines also operates charter flights to Chania, Greece, during the summer season.
The previews highlight some of the features we can expect from the airport release. Whilst no feature list was given, we can see that the airport will include detailed interior modelling, custom night lighting and also a variety of ground clutter around the airport’s apron. Furthermore, there will be a variety of buildings including parts of the cargo operations and airport offices.
Whilst no official release date was shared, the team said that the Microsoft flight Simulator airport will enter beta very soon.
