Supercritical Simulations Group, or SSG, as we know them, has announced the released of version 1.9.2 of their Boeing 747-8. With the new release out of the way, development of their Boeing 747-8 Version 2 for X-Plane will become their primary focus. The announcement also sheds a bit of light on the history of SSG, and how the group got started with the 747-8 as their very first project.
Due to official Boeing licensing, the team has been able to add in more details and make their 747 more accurate over the years. The result of this can be found in their 747-8 (version 1). As the team grew their experience over the course of development, as well as supporting three different versions of X-Plane, they started working on what would become version 2 of their 747-8.
Some of the changes found in version 1.9.2 include a fix for the APU GEN switch engagement, tuning of engine performance and added APU heat blur effects. The full list of changes is below.
A release date for the SSG 747-8 v2 is not yet known, nor is the price of the product or any upgrade possibilities. Version 1 of the product can be purchased for $55 USD from the X-Plane.org Store.
