Redding Regional Airport (KRDD), formally, Redding Municipal Airport, is located in Northern California, located between Redding and Anderson within the Shasta County.
The airport opened in 1942, initial plans were for a civil aviation airport but the US Army Air Forces took the site over to build Redding Army Airfield where it was home to the Bell P-39 Airacobras and training forces. Later it was used for aircraft refuelling and maintenance. In 1946, the USAAF marked the site as surplus and was transferred to a civil airfield in 1949.
Fast forward and Redding Regional has two asphalt runways that are 7000ft and 5000ft long, with a revamped terminal that opened in 2014. The airport handles around 170 aircraft movements a day by airlines such as Alaska and United Express to destinations like Burbank, LA, San Francisco and Seattle.
From the images provided, Spinoza has recreated Redding Regional for Microsoft Flight Simulator to include custom terminal, tower, and hangar buildings and ground clutter such as fuel bowsers, solar panels, people and vehicles. The apron includes parking for light aircraft, helicopters and regional jets too.
