SoFly has announced Cardiff Airport (EGFF) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The new version from SoFly promises to be the ‘most comprehensive’ version released of the Welsh airport.
Cardiff Airport is located in Wales and serves the capital city with frequent flights from carriers such as Ryanair, TUI, and many more. In addition, British Airways has a maintenance hangar at the end of the airport that sees heavy aircraft like the 777 and the 787 receive their checks. There is also a GA area for VFR flyers and a FOB for business jets.
SoFly has indicated in the feature list it comes with high-quality textures, populated parking areas, and fully modelled interiors across the terminal building. Furthermore, the British Airways hangar is fully modelled with timed, animated hangar doors – great for taking the heavies into maintenance. The airport features custom clutter, realistic ground markings and includes a GSX profile. SoFly confirmed that Cardiff Airport was developed in conjunction with SkyHigh Studios.
Speaking on Cardiff, SoFly said, “Yes, we know there are a few versions of Cardiff already, but we were already so close to finishing development when Microsoft revealed their version in World Update 17.” They continued, “That said, we took what people thought was good about that version and improved ours significantly, meaning we feel we have the ultimate version of Cardiff Airport. After all, flight sim deserves a great rendition of the Welsh airport.”
SoFly has confirmed that Cardiff Airport (EGFF) will launch exclusively on iniBuilds next Thursday 29th August 2024 for £12.00 (plus VAT). A trailer, comparison video, and feature overview video will be shared on Monday, giving us more insight into the product.
During FlightSimExpo, SoFly announced Cabin Announcement Pro and improvements to EcoSoundScapes, both of which are due later this year.
