Cessna Citation Connoisseurs, Microsoft Flight Simulator developer Skyward Simulations published a new trailer for its forthcoming rendition of the Citation C680 Sovereign+.
The Citation Sovereign+ shares a tail, wings, and engines with the Citation Latitude. The Latitude was then stretched into the Citation Longitude, the super-midsize jet included in certain editions of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. Compared to the Latitude, the Sovereign+ has a dimensionally smaller cabin, flies 25 knots faster, flies 2000 feet higher, and flies almost 300nm further with all seats occupied. To top it off, the Sovereign+ only requires ~100 ft (30m) more takeoff distance than the much smaller Citation CJ4.
Skyward Simulations’ rendition will be available for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Skyward C680 Sovereign+ Systems Details
Skyward Simulations Sovereign+ sounds are powered by the one and only Boris Audio Works.
The 2020 version of the jet features a detailed electrical system model with over 170 simulated circuits including battery temp, ground power logic, and interactive circuit breakers. The 2024 version features one of the most advanced electrical systems available in the new simulator with close to 600 individual circuits, 900 lines, 250 buses, and 80 individual relays.
Both versions come with a fully simulated anti-ice system for the wings, engines, stabilizer, and windshield with temperature monitoring and CAS alerts. The bleed air system features an accurate pneumatic layout with APU integration, auto source selection, and links to ECS/anti-ice. Fuel and Hydraulics systems modeled in the Sovereign+ include realistic fuel cross-feed/pump logic and a gas/fluid dynamics model for the hydraulics. A FADEC and Autothrottle system includes thrust limits for all phases of flight, TO servo logic, and accurate FMS speed data. Pressurization systems include automatic control with separate cockpit and cabin temperature zones. Oxygen and water usage is also fully modeled with state saving,
Pilots will also be able to take advantage of a fully-simulated datalink with ACARS/CPDLC functionality (FANS 1/A+/ATN B1) with SATCOM/VHF modeling. This will allow pilots to handle D-ATIS, clearances, weather, and ADS-C.
Avionics on the Sovereign+ come in the form of an expanded version of the G5000 suite with dedicated pages for synoptics, datalink, TOLD, cabin management, and systems tests/status. The crew alerting system is expanded with configurable inhibit states for all major systems including TOPI, LOPI, and ESDI.
To complement the G5000, an EFB tablet allows pilots to manage payload, ground services, and systems states including hydraulics, fluids, oxygen, and more. Pilots can also display their SimBrief OFP, Navigraph Charts, checklists, and settings for aircraft configuration and simulation options.
In the cabin, PAX VIP displays feature numerous pages and systems for entertainment during the flight, along with enhanced cabin interactions. Numerous interactive exterior panels and cabin details are also included, along with optional ground equipment and visible crew.
According to the developer, performance is inline with with default MSFS Aircraft.
