Skyward Simulations, fresh off the back of the release of their Diamond DA50 for Microsoft Flight Simulator, has taken to their Discord server to announce their next project; the Cessna Citation Sovereign+.
Dubbed “Project Serpent”, the brief announcement post came with a single image of the aircraft on the ground in a plain white livery. No details on pricing are detailed, and the team alludes to the fact that the project is “still in its early stages”, setting our expectations to a release that will still be some way off.
The C680 Sovereign+ is a business jet developed by Cessna which has now been flying for 22 years. First announced in 1998, the aircraft is equipped with Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306C engines and boasts a top speed of Mach 0.80.
As of 2013, two-thirds of all the 443 produced (349 Sovereign, 94 Sovereign+) were in the United States with NetJets being the largest operator, flying 44 of the type. The Sovereign remains competitive within the market segment for its size and range, however in 2021 Cessna discontinued production, citing an overlap with their other business jets, the Citation Latitude and Longitude.
