SimWorks Studios, known for their PC-12 Legacy and Vans RV-14, released their newest addition to the fleet, the GA8 Airvan, for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
Announced via a Facebook post, the SimWorks GA8 is available on the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Marketplace, with an eventual release on the SimWorks website coming at an unspecified date.
The GA8 Airvan is a single-engine, piston-powered utility aircraft. SimWorks’ rendition features cargo and passenger variants, a cargo pod option, an authentic flight model, and sounds recorded from the real aircraft. A built-in tablet allows pilots to manage payload and select avionics options. The GTN750xi and GTN750 navigators are supported for PC users only. Dirt, mud, and weathering will also accumulate and persist dynamically as the aircraft is flown.
The GA8’s release marks the debut of SimWorks’ SystemsPulse. SystemsPulse is a paid expansion package that adds a bespoke failures model with over 70 possible malfunctions, additional systems depth, wear and tear simulation, and systems persistence.
Customers of the MSFS2020 edition will receive the MSFS2024-native version when it is released. However, SimWorks did not provide a timeline for the 2024 release.
The SimWorks GA8 Airvan is available on the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Marketplace for USD 29.99 / EUR 25,58 / GBP 22.17.
The SystemsPulse expansion for the GA8 is also available via the Marketplace for USD 17.49 / EUR 14,92 / GBP 12.93.
