Italy’s low-cost Rome Ciampino Airport (ICAO: LIRA) has landed in both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 with SimPixel’s latest release.
Situated close to the city centre of the Italian capital city, Rome Ciampino is a hub for low-cost airline Ryanair, and welcomes a multitude of business jet, cargo and military traffic all-year round. With a challenging upsloping runway, spectacular city views on approach, and some tricky non-precision approaches, Ciampino is a rewarding destination for all sim pilots.
SimPixel’s rendition features high-Resolution PBR textures with realistic reflections, weathering, and lighting effects on runways, taxiways, and buildings. Detailed military hangars, civilian terminals and general aviation areas give the scenery a lifelike feel, with a fully reworked ground layout featuring up-to-date taxiway signs, runway markings and realistic ground materials based on the charts.
The team at SimPixel have previously released other airports that just happen to be used by the Irish low-cost carrier as hubs, including Naples, and Weeze.
You can purchase a copy of SimPixel Rome Ciampino (LIRA) for MSFS 2020/2024 from the IniBuilds website for £10.99 GBP.
