VirtualFly-powered SimFlight Services has officially opened pre-orders for pulsAIR, a new modular hardware device designed to expand physical avionics control for Microsoft Flight Simulator and other platforms.
The new hardware module builds on the company’s existing rotAIR ecosystem, which first launched nearly a year ago. Together, the two products aim to provide simmers with a compact IFR-focused desktop solution that reduces reliance on mouse interaction and virtual cockpit controls.
According to SimFlight Services, rotAIR was originally designed to bridge both general aviation and airliner flying. The device features eight dual concentric encoders that can be used with avionics systems such as the G1000, GNS 530, analogue radio stacks, and Garmin G3000 systems. The hardware can also be adapted for Airbus flying through optional A320 front panels, providing control over the FCU, EFIS, COM radios, and transponder systems in aircraft such as the Fenix Simulations A320.
The company says the hardware has been particularly popular with VR pilots, as the fixed physical layout allows users to operate avionics through muscle memory without needing to remove a headset or search for cockpit controls using a mouse.

With pulsAIR, SimFlight Services is now expanding the ecosystem beyond rotary inputs. The new module focuses on push-button functionality, adding dedicated controls for autopilot functions, FMS navigation, and display interaction. The package includes two compact units with a combined total of 24 backlit push buttons inspired by real-world Garmin G1000 hardware, alongside adjustable lighting levels and support for both glass cockpit and analog panel configurations.
The modular approach appears to target simmers who want a more tactile cockpit experience without committing to the cost or footprint of full-scale replica avionics systems. SimFlight Services positions the hardware as a desk-friendly alternative that still offers significant physical interaction with modern avionics.
Both rotAIR and pulsAIR are described as plug-and-play devices with no configuration required out of the box, though advanced customisation options are available for users who want deeper integration.
Pre-orders for pulsAIR are now available through the official SimFlight Services store at a discounted launch price of €110, reduced from the planned €135 retail price. Shipping is currently scheduled to begin on May 25th, 2026.
