SimBrief (part of Navigraph) has been a hugely important tool for the community for many years now, providing the ability to plan your flight simulator routes. Over the years, it has come on leaps and bounds, and with the backing of Navigraph, it continues to add more and more features. A significant update to SimBrief has now landed, offering even more functionality to flight planners.
Improved Flight Planning
The new update sees a vast improvement to its flight planning algorithms. Using more powerful technology, the planning can take seconds and now factors in multiple new considerations. It can now handle complex scenarios, including weather restrictions and avoiding ETOPs specific areas and even entire airspace.

On the Navigraph blog, they share how they managed to do a flight across the US, whilst avoiding major thunderstorm activity to provide an optimal route.
Other Improvements for Subscribers
Along with the massive changes to the routing, SimBrief now has the ability to easily add oceanic tracks and also select SID/STARs from a drop down menu, right within the software. Not only that, but you can now visualise the departure or arrival right on the interactive map within SimBrief (akin to the Navigraph Charts app).

Features Free for All
The above new functionality is for subscribers to Navigraph only. However, to ensure that those still using the free version get a taste of fresh updates, there are some nice improvements here as well. Flight history overall is now grouped together instead of being cluttered. There are now new aircraft options such as equipment codes, PBN capabilities, and more. Editing these bits of information is also easier too with new pop-ups.
