Simmers using the free SimBrief flight dispatch service will soon have another way to view their OFPs within Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Navigraph, who acquired SimBrief in 2021, have announced they will soon be releasing a new addon for MSFS which will enable users to inspect their flight plan from the in-game toolbar.
Some preview screenshots that were shared on social media ahead of Halloween showed the “flight info” section which simmers already familiar with the service will immediately recognise being shared in a floating window within the sim. This is replete with route information displayed on a 2D map, as well as basic flight information such as cruise altitude, cost index, and block/air times.
Buttons also exist that indicate there will be the ability to import the SimBrief flight plan straight into the user’s aircraft within the sim, as well as pre-file on virtual air traffic networks like VATSIM, IVAO and POSCON.
Other options available include the ability to save/load flight plans and airframes, access weather information, and run performance calculations thanks to Simbrief’s recently added performance calculation functionality – something that might be especially helpful for the many simmers taking the new FlyByWire A380 for a test flight this weekend.
No further information has been made public thus far, including but not limited to a public release date.
We’ll let you know here at FSElite when the addon drops!
