On July 14th, 2025, Sim Design Group released a new rendition of Egypt’s largest and busiest international airport, Cairo International.
Cairo is Sim Design Group’s first release for the MSFS 2020/2024 platforms and features:
- Accurately Recreated Terminals: All major terminals (1, 2, and 3) are modeled in high detail and with realistic glass reflections.
- True-to-Life Ground Layout: Based on the latest AIP and satellite data, including updated taxiways, parking stands, and ground markings.
- Custom Night Lighting: Immersive and accurate lighting across the entire airport, terminals, apron, taxiways, and runways.
- Animated Custom Jetways.
- Detailed Airport Environment: Unique clutter, cargo zones, fuel farms, radar towers, hangars, and realistic Egyptian ground textures throughout the airfield.
- Handcrafted Landmarks Around the Airport
- Optimized for Performance: to provide high frame rates while maintaining visual fidelity on both mid-range and high-end systems.
- Realistic Static Aircraft: A range of region-appropriate static aircraft for added immersion.
- Custom GSX Profile including custom pushback routes and parking services
- A hand-crafted elevation mesh across the entire airport, including realistic runway slopes, taxiway gradients, and uneven apron surfaces for “maximum immersion”
According to the developer, Sim Design group is “a team of virtual aviation enthusiasts who are skilled in producing airport scenery and more for the Microsoft Flight Simulator community. The main objectives of this team are to extend the coverage of the airport modeling to where other scenery vendors have not reached, and to provide this scenery with a price tag a lot affordable for the majority of flight simmers around the world.”
