Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be launching on November 19th 2024 and promises to be the most ambitious simulator yet created by Microsoft. With plenty of new aircraft, all-new technology, and the promise of a more immersive world, there will be a significant amount of changes with the all-new simulator coming this year. To ensure the launch goes as smoothly as possible, Microsoft will be hosting a limited Tech Alpha of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 later this month.

As reported on their official website, the focus will be on gathering data and validating new services for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Because this is just a technical alpha looking at very specific things, the focus of its services and scope of content will be limited. Don’t expect every aircraft to be available, or every mission, challenge, etc.

In order to be eligible to participate in the Tech Alpha, you will need to ensure you meet the minimum spec requirements. There is also only limited space so not everyone who signs up will be involved in the tech alpha and the period of time the simulator will be available will be 2-3 days.

The exact dates for the tech alpha are yet to be made public and will be shared closer to the start of the review. If you are interested, you can sign up via the Insider Sign-Up Survey on the official Flight Simulator website. You will also need to provide your DxDiag to Microsoft to validate your specs meet the requirements, but you do not have to have the simulator on pre-order.

If you do participate, below is a list and basic descriptions of what services the team will be validating. There is also a FAQ on their website for more details.

  • CDS – Package and content streaming
  • EntitlementService – User entitlements related to the sim and player inventory
