The team behind the 747-8 freeware modification has taken to social media to show off its upcoming EFB / onboard tablet device. Salty Simulations, shared several previews of the upcoming EFB, along with highlighting some of the functionality that will come with the tablet device in a new update for its 747-8 mod. We did see previews of the EFB back in May.
Starting off with the first few previews, we see how you will be able to gather weather data. Salty has presented the information in a very visual format with clear text that takes the raw METAR data and then presents it in an easily readable way. The EFB will also be able to show you files, including your SimBrief OFP, PDF files, and even local images.
Finally, we can also see options such as a light/dark mode, brightness settings, and the ability to sync up your SimBrief/Navigraph accounts. There are also ‘Aircraft’ and ‘ACARS’ options, but we don’t have further details on those specifically yet.
As usual, we’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled on this and let you know once Salty releases this update for its 747-8 mod for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The team said that the tablet should be coming soon.
