Salty Simulations Announces SaltyReplay for Microsoft Flight Simulator

The developers behind the ongoing freeware modification to the default 747-8, Salty Simulations, has announced a brand new open-source replay system named SaltyReplay. The new replay system enables you to record your flights in Microsoft Flight Simulator and then replay them. This is a feature that is keenly wanted by simmers in the simulator.

The announcement was made over on the Salty Simulations Discord channel and is made clear that whilst this project is freely available for anyone to download, it is very early days for the product and mostly made available for contributors to support the project. A disclaimer on the Github repository makes it clear this should be used for testing and development purposes and that the common user should not use it just yet. A preview video of it in action was shared.

In terms of features, the concept will enable people to use the UI to record their flights in the simulator and replay them. Right now, the tool can record position, bank angle, pitch, altitude and heading, with other elements such as gear, flaps and animations being added later.

You can monitor the progress of the development through the Salty Simulations Discord server, or you can check out the Github repositoryAgain, this shouldn’t be used for common use yet due to the nature of the open-source product.

Thanks to Inaxair for the heads up.
