If you purchased the 2020 version before December 15th 2025, you can upgrade for free. If you purchased on or after December 15th 2025, there is a £2.00 (excluding VAT) upgrade fee. For those who don’t already own it, you can buy it from iniBuilds for £14.99 (excluding VAT).

RW Profiles has provided further details on its upcoming update to Newcastle Airport (EGNT) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, outlining a broad range of improvements designed to take full advantage of the simulator’s latest SDK. The updated version introduces new native, high-resolution ground textures, along with fully native night lighting and a completely re-surfaced runway featuring updated markings. These changes aim to elevate the overall visual quality while ensuring compatibility with the newer platform.

Performance improvements are also a central part of the update. Thanks to new SDK capabilities such as instanced 3D objects, elements like ground vehicles can now be used more extensively across the airport with minimal performance cost. RW Profiles notes that all vehicles throughout the scenery now have a comparable performance impact to just a small number of traditionally placed objects, helping to maintain smooth performance even in complex areas of the airport.

Rather than being a simple port from the 2020 version, RW Profiles confirms that every feature upgraded for the 2024 release has been rebuilt entirely from scratch.

The updated Newcastle Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be released on Tuesday, December 16, via the iniBuilds Store. The update itself will be free for existing customers, but new ones can purchase it for £14.99 (excluding VAT). Releases for the in-sim Marketplace and Xbox are expected early in the new year.
