To cut the recent months of silence, over on the X-Plane.org forum, Rotate has dropped two new previews of their work-in-progress MD-11 for X-Plane 11. This preview is the first in a series of previews from Rotate exhibiting the work done related to systems and functionality.
The first system previewed is the electrical system in the phase of a start sequence and smoke procedure sequence (labeled accordingly at the end of this article). To mirror the intricacy of the MD-11, Rotate has chosen to model the systems with a component-oriented design. This means each component in the electrical system simulates its electrical state in terms of voltage, current and load. Anomalous function and failures are also an indispensable part of the components.
Logic has been implemented to imitate to mimic the sources priority, No Break Power Transfer and Parallel Operation, as well as the emergency Power Transfer with functional battery, charger and air driven generator. Dual Land Mode and Smoke Procedures (as shown below) are also simulated. Listed at the end of this article, we have the complete list of independently simulated components. Overall, this will provide the user with the most authentic simulation possible.
We will endeavor to keep you updated on the next couple of systems previews in Rotate’s expected series. You can view the full forum thread on the X-Plane.org forum.
