It has been a busy time for scenery developer Richer Simulations. After releasing their Grantley Adams International Airport scenery, the developer has also released Douglas-Charles Airport (TDPD) as part of their Caribsky product series.
Located on the island nation of Dominica, Douglas-Charles Airport is one of two airports serving the island and has undergone various upgrade and expansion programs. The airport’s short 5,761-foot runway means that air traffic is generally limited to regional jets and propeller aircraft. However, with the introduction of American Airlines/American Eagle service to Miami, passenger volumes at the airport have dramatically increased since 2021. In order to attract future growth, the government of Dominica is looking to construct a new, world-class international airport. In the meantime, renovations will continue at Douglas-Charles Airport to sustain the current growth.

Richer Simulations’ latest scenery reflects the 2022 layout of the airport. This highly detailed scenery also features PBR textures, sloped terrain, and mesh upgrades for the areas surrounding the airport. Nestled between the seaside and hilly terrain, landing at Douglas-Charles airport will truly test a pilot’s skills. In addition, while A320neos do not normally fly into TDPD, the photo previews show that the aircraft could comfortably fit at this small airport. Finally, like all Richer Simulation sceneries, Douglas-Charles airport features several realistic ground and airport objects.
You can now get your copy of Douglas-Charles Airport from SimMarket for €12.00 (excluding VAT).
