REX Simulations Looking to Bring Environment Force to X-Plane 11

REX Simulations streamed their Environment Force for the first time today for an hour between 1700zulu and 1800zulu. The stream primarily consisted of multiple REX developers showcase new features for the upcoming product. Towards the end of the stream, a QA session was opened up and of course, one of the most popular questions was: “what about X-Plane”.

Many suspected either the question would:

A) Be ignored;

B) or to be side-stepped

What actually happened was very much the opposite. REX Simulations has confirmed that they are eventually going to “port [Envrionment Force] to X-Plane”.

Speaking frankly, they have said that they have been “in contact with Ben and his time” from X-Plane, but are waiting until a more stable version of X-Plane is released due to the changing rendering systems. You can watch the confirmation in the Twitch clip we clipped. We have provided a transcript below, also.

“We can disclose that we are working with tests on X-Plane. Obviously, we need to get this product out first. The idea is to eventually port this to X-Plane as well. The answer is ‘Yes’, we are in an early development phase. Don’t forget that X-Plane is changing the rendering system and we are waiting until they have a stable release. We have been in contact with Ben and his team. The idea is, yes, is to have a compatible product in X-Plane as well.”

You should also watch the full stream as it gives a great overview of the product itself. Don’t forget, as confirmed last week, REX Environment Force will be releasing on April 30th.
