Rex Simulations, known for products such as Weather Force and AccuSeason has announced a brand new product coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator. The newly announced REX Atmos for the simulator looks to add a new layer of realism to your flight sim experience by changing the atmospheric conditions.
Two different screenshots were shown off on their website comparing how REX Atmos will impact your flight simulator. One image is using Active Sky for MSFS and another using REX’s Weather Force alongside using REX Atmos. The first image tells us that the new product fixes cloud layers corrects the atmospheric colouring, and adds ‘true rayleigh’ scattering.
The second image depicts similar features. It also corrects the ozone and cloud colour for more accuracy. According to the same screenshots, editable parameters include weather, atmosphere, and the environment. Exactly how is yet to be seen as these two images are all we know so far from Rex.
Rex also says that the new add-on is fully customisable with real-time rendering, safe to use, and has an easy-to-use user interface. Not only that, but you can save and share presets with others.
Rex hasn’t commented further at this time, but a website is up and running with more details to come soon. As we await more details about REX Atmos, stay tuned to FSElite and we will keep you updated.
