RetroWings Announces Fairchild Metroliner for X-Plane

Developer RetroWings has announced that they are working on Fairchild Metroliner for X-Plane.

The Fairchild Metroliner (SW4) is an interesting aircraft that finds its origins back in the 1960s. It started out as an aircraft by Swearingen Aircraft before it was acquired by Fairchild. It is a twin-engine turboprop that can carry up to 22 people with a good amount of range and speed.

Only a handful of new previews were shared at this time, but the team is actively working on the aircraft. You can see the previews shared by the official X-Plane social account below.

In terms of progress, RetroWings developer Steaven McKenzie said, “systems will be starting very soon. I am in the process of getting the Systems developer my portion of the 3d cockpit completed so he can start working on bringing it to life.”

If you want to follow along with progress, you can check out their Discord server. As usual, though, we will keep you informed.
