Realworld Scenery has released its version of Grand Junction Regional Airport (KGJT) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Located in the heart of the Grand Valley Colorado, 3 miles (4.8 km) northeast of Grand Junction, KGJT is roughly halfway between the major Western U.S. population centers of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Denver, Colorado. The airport is the busiest airport on Colorado’s Western Slope in terms of passenger volume serving 482,773 passengers in 2023.
Thanks to its location, KGJT serves as a crucial commercial air travel link for the region. The airport connects travelers to eight nonstop destinations with service provided by five airlines: Breeze Airways, United Airlines, American Airlines, Allegiant Air, and Delta Air Lines, which recently resumed service between KGJT and Salt Lake City. The airport provides an important hub for regional cargo operations and also serves as a base for aerial firefighting for the Western Region of the U.S. KGJT is home to one of the nation’s leading independent Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) providers, West Star Aviation.
According to the developer, Realworld Scenery’s version of KGJT for MSFS2020 features custom-made, highly detailed buildings, including the terminal with interior detail. Numerous general aviation facilities have been custom-crafted, as well as the Grand Junction Air Center (Dispatch and Airtanker Base). The airport also features realistic, HD ground markings and has been optimized for performance.
Realworld Scenery’s Grand Junction Regional Airport is available from the developer’s website for a sale price of $10.00 (normally $13.00). It is also available via Simmarket.
