X-Plane 12’s third party developer community continues to expand with the advent of a new, eagerly-anticipated ground handling system from the team at realops.
Realops is a ground handling add-on currently optimized for type C aircraft such as the A320 and B737, but it’s compatible with any aircraft using custom presets. It features a host of custom modeled ground service equipment with PBR materials including stairs, fuel trucks, loaders, and catering vehicles in a variety of liveries. ULD-container type loaders aren’t available yet but coming soon.
SimBrief is integrated directly into the plugin, allowing pilots to load fuel, cargo, and passengers using data from the OFP. For LevelUp and Zibo aircraft, loading operations directly affect the weight and balance of the airplane. Pilots have the ability to adjust a host of options including service speed, as well as check on the status of pending operations in the plugin menu.
Development of the product is ongoing and features, compatibility, and service logic are all planned to expand over time. Realops states that while minor bugs cannot be completely ruled out, they will be dealt with as a priority.
