A few moments ago, iniBuilds finished its recent developer stream that had a focus on the company’s history, gave insight into its development and testing process, along with giving some teasers for what is to come with this week’s Summer Surprises.
Foundations and Development Process
The stream began with Ubaid, CEO of iniBuilds, giving an insight into the origins of iniBuilds. The group began making dynamic lighting and GSX profiles in the days of Prepar3D. Soon, the team worked on creating liveries for community members and then one day worked with others to bring the A300 to X-Plane 11 as their first aircraft.
Since then, the team has expanded in scenery creation, collaborating with others, and also being an integral part of creating aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator’s base product. Michael Standen was then brought on as their Head of Production who now oversees many projects at iniBuilds.
With a number of products now out the door, iniBuilds expressed just how important community feedback is. They now have a team of over 90 testers who validate changes and provide feedback before updates and products are released. The duo gave a bit of insight into how they gather feedback data, add it to their bug tracking services and work through them and test before releasing to the public.
iniManager Update
The iniManager was then mentioned by host Matt Yamin. He said that the iniManager has been well-received by the community and the store itself has grown massively to now having over 130,000 accounts. He also added that 40% of customers checkout via the iniManager.
They realise that there need to be improvements to the iniManager, which is why they are working hard on v3 of the tool. They are improving download speeds, the loading of products, and teased a new map that will host airport and landmark locations.
They said they would expect a V3 by the end of the year.
Summer Surprises
The Summer Surprises will continue into this week following the stream. Last week we saw plenty of sales across a number of products, but this week will see new announcements and releases. Starting tomorrow, Ubaid teased a new scenery coming out. He said it’s “great for the summer”, perhaps teasing a holiday destination.
More details will be shared tomorrow by Head of Scenery at iniBuilds who will detail how they choose products and the process they go through to recreate airports.
On Wednesday, expect to hear about a new series of aircraft being developed by iniBuilds. This will the Premier Series, with the first reveal happening mid-week.
Thursday, perhaps the most exciting day, will be the day of the airliners. Ubaid made mention of the fact that some of their X-Plane aircraft were taken off of sale due to some issues. However, they will be back online soon after a significant update is released that day for them.
Speaking of airliners, Ubaid also said to expect plenty more information on their other Airbus airliners coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator, including the…
iniBuilds A350
Although we didn’t see much of the iniBuilds A350 in this stream, we are told that Thursday will see plenty more information from them about the long-awaited plane. Expect a new teaser trailer, an FAQ and more from the team as it wraps up the iniBuilds Summer Surprises period.
They couldn’t resist sharing a few teasers however, which we’ll share a couple here. But you can see the full tease at the end of their stream.
We’ll be following the rest of the week with anticipation and be sure to keep you updated.
You can watch the full stream above.
