After a period of silence, QualityWings Simulations has released a brand new update for their Ultimate 787 for FSX and Prepar3D. The new service pack adds all-new features and many tweaks and fixes based on bug reports and feedback. As mentioned on a forum post, the team wanted to bring something new to the EFB with this service pack as the EFB is such a key feature of the aircraft.
The new EFB update adds a route entry system, allowing you to copy and paste coded text routes from various sites and input it directly into the EFB. The EFB will then interpret the coding and create a flightplan which is then uplinked to the FMS of the aircraft.
In addition to the new EFB, the team has made improvements to the autoflight system found in the aircraft. Improvements to the VNAV and LNAV path logic has been vastly improved, along with FLCH speed logic and also the Autothrottle speed controls.
Further to the two primary new features, the changelog also highlights other changes that customers will appreciate. Display and HUD brightness controls have been added, along with improved texture quality in the flight deck. Various other bugs within the CDU have been fixed along with various changes to the flight dynamic behaviour of the aircraft.
This service pack is the result of several months of development work and is provided free of charge for all customers who own the Ulitmate 787 for FSX and Prepar3D. Otherwise, you can pick up the Ultimate 787 Collection for $79.95 USD on Flight1.
In related news, QualityWings Simulations is developing the Ultimate 787 for Microsoft Flight Simulator and they are hoping for a release sometime later this year.
