QualityWings Simulations – January 2019 Update (787 PBR)

The team at QualityWings Simulations has taken to Facebook to share their first development update of 2019. The post spoke about plans for the Ulitmate 146 collection, development on the Ultimate 757 for P3DV4 and also what the future holds for their flagship Ultimate 787 product.

Ultimate 146

The release of the Ultimate 146 in Prepar3D V4 saw some positive feedback from the community. As a result of the overwhelming support, the team are working on a new update for the product line. This update has finished development work and is in the final stages of testing.

Ultimate 757

QualityWings Simulations acknowledged that it was around a year ago when they confirmed they were bringing their legacy Ultimate 757 to Prepar3D V4. The team said that development has taken longer than expected, but work continues to press on with making sure it’s ready for the simulator. Furthermore, they also confirmed they would be moving from the Esellerate system and migrating the customer database to the Flight1 licensing system, which should alleviate issues some have been seeing regarding product activation.

Ultimate 787

The Ultimate 787 has already seen multiple service packs to improve the quality of the product. More are still planned. With the introduction of PBR in Prepar3D V4.4, the team are embracing the new technology and will be implemented on the 787 very soon. They said “it helps the 787 visuals tremendously”.

In addition to PBR, the next version of the Ultimate 787 will bring support for Remote CDU on the lower MFD and the Electronic Flight Bag. Remote CDU will mean you can see any page from the lower display (including the FMS) on multiple mobile devices including Android tablets/phones, Apple products and even Windows tablets and phones.

Finally, the team gave a brief list of other updates users can expect in the upcoming update:

  • Significant Stability Improvements
  • Autothrottle oscillations above Mach .85
  • Improved Panel state loading
  • PFD Speedtape coffin corner simulation
  • And many more

No timeline was given on when this update would be made available.

Future Products

In their comments about PBR for the Ultimate 787, the team teased that we will have to wait for upcoming products in development before they can show off bare metal PBR effects. Any guesses what they could be referring to?
