Propair Flight has expanded its European offerings for Microsoft Flight Simulator with the release of Brussels South Charleroi Airport (EBCI). According to the developer, EBCI was one of the most requested airports in the flight simulation community. The development was driven by “direct engagement with simmers” through extensive feedback and polls to ensure the rendition meets the demands of the community.
Located 46 km (28.5 mi) south of the City of Brussels, EBCI is the second-busiest airport in Belgium. Thanks to its location, the airport serves as a gateway for low-cost carriers like Ryanair and Wizz Air, and connects the region to destinations across the European continent and North Africa. In 2024, the airport saw over 10.5 million passenger operations. EBCI is also a busy general aviation airfield with three flight schools located at the airport. A single, 3,200m (10,499 ft) runway, 06/24, serves the needs of airliners and GA aircraft alike.
Propair Flight’s EBCI aims to capture the feel of the airport through high-detail building models and 4K high-resolution textures, along with PBR materials. The terminal features a modeled interior, while the airfield itself utilizes a custom ground polygon for an accurate, up-to-date taxiway layout. To bring the apron to life, the package includes animated people and custom night lighting that accurately reflects the airport’s operations.
