For those whose update to Prepar3D v4.5 has been less than ideal, Lockheed Martin has an answer: a hotfix that will be appearing in the next couple of weeks.
Since April 10th, there’s been a post on the Lockheed forums detailing FPS issues in v4.5. Users both reported improved, but also worsened, FPS results in the new update.
9 pages and eight days later, Prepar3D Core Lead Rob McCarthy has issued a statement regarding the issue of worsened FPS in v4.5.
He says that Lockheed has identified and found a fix for an issue that affects framerates in some 4.5 use cases and that they are currently working with third parties on some additional reports. He details that a hotfix addressing this issue will be released in a couple of week’s time.
In the meantime, there is, in fact, a workaround for this issue. Quoting Simbol, a P3D developer, the workaround is to “keep your autogen detail bars in the middle range until the hotfix is available.”.
That was all we were provided from Rob, but we’ll let you know when the hotfix has released.
