Breaking the period of silence since the last PMDG update, Robert Randazzo has shared a plethora of information on what the team has been up to since we last heard from them, along with information on the upcoming 737 NG3, Global Flight Operations, and the new shopping cart system.
To start out, a good portion of the PMDG team was involved in flying the company’s DC-3 across the Atlantic for the D-Day celebrations and internet access was limited during this time. This isn’t to say that the time spent away from the office was unproductive- it wasn’t. The team used the time between legs to hash out quite a bit of workflow and development strategy. Additionally, the team has now been back in the office for 3 weeks now, and things are once again full steam ahead for PMDG’s projects.
Next up, the 737 NG3. PMDG is now in the process of assembling their technical advisors to give them a hand in nailing down the loose details on the aircraft. PMDG is also beginning to discuss the first preview of the new aircraft, and we are told to stay tuned for a possible video reveal of the project in order to capture the true essence of what the product will feature.
Global Flight Operations is now closer than ever to a release, with PMDG now having a few markers on their calendars for the product. The core of GFO’s functionality has also been undergoing a refactor in order to add some new features that weren’t going to make v1.0, as well as a few that the team thought up in a hotel along their route.
PMDG’s new shopping cart system is almost ready for the spotlight as well, with a tentative availability scheduled within the next two weeks. The team has put a tremendous amount of effort into making the transition as seamless as possible, so users should find their entire account history when they go to log in to the new system for the first time.
That was all we were given for now, but it seems like things are heating up in the PMDG workshop, so I expect it won’t be long until we have more to share with you!
