PMDG Previews 737NGXu BBJ, Coming Soon

PMDG’s Robert Randazzo has taken to the forums to inform the community about the upcoming release of the 737NGXu BBJ (Boeing Business Jet) expansion pack for the original 737NGXu on Prepar3D. Robert went into detail about how the BBJ/BBJ2 differs from the standard 737 configurations and some of the changes present in the aircraft product.

The BBJ expansion pack will come with new features made specifically for the product which replicates both Boeing documents and some after-market products. In particular, users will be able to configure the aux fuel systems to get quite extensive range from these narrow-body jets. The EFB and PMDG’s Ground Ops process have both been configured for the use of a VIP aircraft. In addition, the team has made a comprehensive virtual cabin layout that includes crew quarters, VIP lounges, working spaces and showers.

The previews were also accompanied by two videos shared by PMDG staff member Chris Makris which highlighted the interior cabin of the executive jet.

The PMDG 737NGXu BBJ Expansion Pack should be made available this week, along with significant updates to the entire 737NGXu range via the Operations Center. The product will only require the 737NGXu Base Pack and not the 600/700 or the Cargo expansion packs.

Robert concluded his forum post by providing a brief update on some of the other PMDG products currently going through development.

The long-awaited 777 Base Pack update should be entering testing this week, whilst a preview for the 777-200ER is pending. As for the PMDG DC-6, work for an update on that product will commence in the next month and we should also hear more information on PMDG Global Flight Operations soon as a “date is on the calendar”. Finally, it was emphasised that the 737NG3 for Microsoft Flight Simulator is still at least 12-months away due to the current SDK and platform status. This was discussed in a past post.
