PMDG Previews 737-600 for MSFS

A short look at the short Boeing aicraft.

The smallest member of the 737NG fleet is the 737-600 and PMDG has shared the first previews of the tiny jet in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

For the 737-600, PMDG says that they are exploring how to get it rapidly into the MSFS Marketplace. There is also a consideration for the plane to release on both the Marketplace and the PMDG store concurrently. Nothing has been decided at this time. Interestingly, Rob also talks about how they may update guidance on the -600’s pricing as they “think initial guidance on the 600 package trended a bit higher than is probably appropriate for the product scale.” Initially, PMDG said that the price of the 737-600 would be approximately $50.00. He also said that the beta testing is running 7-9 days late, but there’s a chance it may roll out in the middle of June as originally anticipated. It’s good to note that if the -600 is delayed, then this doesn’t mean the -800 is delayed.

In his lengthy forum post, Rob also talked about things we’ve previously heard before. The lateral and Vertical path module is being prepped to be tested within MSFS very soon despite PMDG thinking it needed to be sidelined until Asobo provides the debugging tools. Rob says they continued to “hammer away” at this as it’s important and will “dramatically improve the accuracy of how PMDG airliners move through the sky in a 3D pathway.”

There are other snippets in his forum post about the in-store credit, which you can read on the forums.

Prepar3D Plans

Right now, PMDG seems focused entirely on the Microsoft Flight Simulator suite of products. When asked about whether the Lateral / Vertical Path Module or the Autoflight Director Module will come to Prepar3D, Rob says “We are not currently planning any updates for P3D. Our roadmap for development is currently focused on the getting the 737 development for MSFS completed. Further evaluations will be made at that time.”
