PMDG Founder Robert S. Randazzo posted on the PMDG forums and on Facebook an update of their current work in progress.
Boeing 747 Update
The upcoming Boeing 747 update has been pushed to the beta team. While the release to the public was actually planned for a few weeks ago, the current worldwide COVID-19 situation, while not affecting much PMDG operations, has put some sands in the gears. However, the final release to the public should not take too long anymore.
The Boeing 747 update contains fixes, code tweaks, changed ground physics and new lift physics that will change the wing flex.
Boeing 777 Update
While the team thought the Boeing 777 would happen before the Boeing 747 update, they have encountered several hiccups during the process. PMDG has not decided yet if they were going to push their NGXu update first or their 777 update after the 747 update is released to the public.
The Boeing 777 update is a big undertaking, converting the 777 to PBR materials, FMS updates and updated ground handling and lift changes similar to the ones planned for the 747. The PBR update will cover the entire 777 line. This update will however NOT include the addition of the EFB to the 777 family.
In the mean time, customers can take advantage of the current PMDG Sales going on, with 25% off all “long-haul” products such as the DC-6, the Boeing 747 and the Boeing 777 family of products until 14APR2020.
