As previewed last August, Colombian developer PKSIM has finally released their Bogotá El Dorado International Airport scenery for Prepar3D v4.
Serving 32.7 million passengers in 2018, El Dorado International Airport is the main gateway to Colombia and home to several airlines, the most important being Colombian national carrier Avianca. Located in the outskirts of Bogotá, El Dorado is surrounded with high terrain, topping at more than 17.000ft. The airport itself lies at 8300ft above sea level, making take-off and landing performance calculations challenging. The airport layout consists of two 3800m/12.500ft runways, two central passenger terminals and one cargo apron, completed with a military airbase.
The scenery is current with the new Terminal 1 completed, replacing the old terminal that was demolished in 2013. It uses the latest technology available on Prepar3D v4 such as dynamic lighting. It also has SODE jetways and windsocks, and is GSX ready. Immersion is reinforced by 3D grass and static aircraft. There are also moving vehicles wandering around the airport. It will complete well the growing collection of quality Colombian airports made by PKSIM, among them Carthagena, San Andrés and Cali.
You can purchase PKSIM Bogotá El Dorado International for €24 on Simmarket.
